Roofers in Shoreham-by-Sea for the flint cottages of Old Shoreham, the terraces near the High Street and the bungalows towards Southwick. Ring 01273 110909 or send the form for a free quote.
Shoreham sits on the mouth of the Adur, and its roofs take the wind off the sea and up the river. Old Shoreham's flint cottages carry clay tiles and slate on uneven, centuries-old timbers. The streets around the High Street and Ham Road are Victorian terraces, and Buckingham Park and Southwick are inter-war semis and bungalows in concrete tile.
Shoreham Beach is the most exposed of all. Salt air corrodes fixings and lead faster, and the wind lifts ridges and verges that were bedded in mortar decades ago. Converting those to dry ridge and dry verge is one of the most useful jobs on any roof here.
Older cottages need a lighter touch: matching reclaimed tiles, working with timbers that are not straight, and leaving the roofline looking as it always has.
Shoreham-by-Sea is about 6 miles west of our Brighton base, across the Adur from Shoreham Beach and the houseboats. We cover the town, Old Shoreham under the A27, Southwick and Kingston Buci, with William on the roof for every quote.
Shoreham Beach and the streets along Brighton Road take salt air and wind straight off the harbour mouth. Lifted ridge tiles, cracked verges and corroded lead are the roof repairs we expect here, and swapping mortar for dry ridge and dry verge stops them coming back.
Flint cottages in Old Shoreham need tiles and slates matched by eye, not a full strip. The estates up towards Mill Hill and Buckingham Park are a different job: a full new roof with new membrane, battens and a dry ridge. Rough budgets are in our new roof cost guide.
